Rant Of The Week: Will Heidi and Seal’s Divorce be the end of Marriage itself?

Written by Gary

Out of all the celebrity couples I have seen I was rooting for them the most. No matter how many breakups and makeups there were with the Scarjos and Leos of the world as long as Seal and Heidi Klum were still popping out mocha colored babies I felt all right about the state of relationships.

As a few of  you may have surmised by the fact that I have mentioned it a few hundred times, someone is finally attempting to tame the wild beast that is me. I am seeing someone, ladies and gay gentlemen (and straight guys that arrived here accidentally, but kept reading because they secretly wonder what its like to be a girl).

Any time you start actually starting to like someone, there are a lot of other mixed feelings that get stirred up – feelings of insecurity, fear, jealousy, and perhaps even self destructive tendencies (for instance that burning need you feel to go out to a bar, get faced and go home with a stranger just so you won’t feel so vulnerable for one godforsaken second). Not to mention, Heidi Klum and Seal broke up.

Out of all the celebrity couples I have seen I was rooting for them the most. No matter how many breakups and makeups there were with the Scarjos and Leos of the world as long as Seal and Heidi Klum were still popping out mocha colored babies I felt all right about the state of relationships. But what now?

My prediction is that the dissolution of their marriage will set in wheels a series of events that result in the complete disintegration of marriage itself. My reasons for this are as follows: Seal and Heidi represented the line between traditional and non-traditional relationships. They were straight, but they were multi-racial. They were also a model and a musician, and we all know how those relationships ended up. If Seal and Heidi couldn’t even make it work given all the hurdles they must have had to face and all the barriers they broke down just by being together, then tell me who in the world can?

Editor’s note: By work, I mean be happily married. I am not referring to Tom/Katie marriage contracts or Kidman/Urban giant/midget marriages of convenience.

Maybe this is a lot of pressure to put on that couple, but she has walked in 6 inch pumps down miles and catwalks and he was in a gang (allegedly). If they can’t handle the pressure, what hope do the rest of us have?
