Well, this was one hell of an emotional weekend…
1) I Believe in Miracles. I really do. My grandmother’s funeral was today, and I had rented a car with a toddler seat so I could make the trek upstate to the service with my two year old. In the cab on the way to the car rental place I mistakenly lost my cell phone (which obviously had the address to the synagogue where the service was being held), and by the time I got to the car rental place they casually announced that they didn’t even have any toddler seats left. Crap. I went back home with my son in another cab (and in tears) thinking there was no feasible way for me to make it to my grandmother’s funeral in only about an hour and change, and couldn’t let anyone know because my phone was gone. By the time I got home I called the guy I’ve been seeing since his number was the last outgoing call in my phone, and through my sobs I let him know that someone might call him to notify him of my phone being found, and of the whole chaotic story. The guy said “just go get a car, I’ll get bring you a car seat.” …within a matter of minutes this funeral day savior brought me a perfect toddler seat, and some British man called him to let him know he had my phone. I made it to the funeral just in time for the eulogy. MIRACLE.
2) I Really Like Spanikopita. I ate like a good Sephardic chick today… which basically means lots of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern style food. Spanikopita is the delish spinach/feta/filo dough combo that you often see in Greek diners, but is SO much better when it’s homemade.
3) I Love Children. I love my own, but I also just love seeing kids play and smile. I want like 3,457,676,200 more.
4) My Little Cousin Wants to be Eminem. I’m not sure that Eminem is the best role model out there, but Justin Gruber is on fiyah.
sending all my love to you, sincere condoleances, you sexy thing… xxx
My condolences for the loss of your grandmother.
Guy just may be a keeper.
I believe less a miracle and more the kindness of a stranger and the love of a good guy. In sum, people treating each other with generosity, compassion, and respect – the kind of world I want to live in
I echo Samantha’s sentiment and also send condolences.
hugs for the passing of your grandmother and wow – KEEP THAT GUY! Wishing you an awesome week!
