Finally, True Wetsuits for Work.

True Wetsuits: designed to take you from the beach to the boardroom.

How many times have you surfing and thought, “I just wish I had a fancier wetsuit. Something I could go to work in, something I could really wear to a beach wedding?” Too many times to count, I bet.

For $2500 Quicksilver is giving Savile Row tailoring a run for its money– because these  ‘True Wetsuits’ are perfect for chilly waves or sitting deskside (assuming you don’t mind things getting a little hot and bothered on dry land). The reps at Quicksilver say the following:

1. This is not a hoax. (phew)

2. Submerge yourself in saltwater all day, it doesn’t matter, the suits will dry out quickly.

3. Shirt and tie are included.

“As your lifestyle changes, you have less and less time to go surfing,” says Shin Kimitsuka, Quiksilver’s Brand Director. “I thought it would be interesting to offer this product as a new solution to deal with that issue.”

I’d like to thank the intersection of fashion and science for making this possible, and hope that one day soon I’ll be able to have an evening gown that also doubles as a mermaid tail for accelerated ocean swimming. For now, though, I’ll just stick to the only ocean-ready gear I own: this scuba crop top.
