You realize your parents are human. I know you always thought that your parents were super-humans who had all the answers to everything, but the second you start to feel like an adult you realize that your parents are just as flawed as you are. They have sex, they take dumps, and they have real emotions that are just as screwed up as yours. They are going to die some day, so your 20s is the perfect time to really get to know them as human beings, instead of whatever self-involved image you have created in your head.
