So – you think it’s a big deal to go to the gym three times a week training for the triathlon? You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Late last night, my dear girlfriend sent me an email asking to support her as she is undertaking the Tough Mudder challenge taking place next weekend in Bear Valley (Northern California), a seven mile, 19-obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces. According to her, “these bad-ass Brits were made famous for the ass-kicking they dished out during the 1980 Iranian Embassy Siege in London and were the first ever elite special forces unit that all other countries special forces units (including the SEALs) are modeled on.”
It involves fire walking…
… crawling on the belly through the mud…
… overall a shitload of mud stomping…
… and even underwater tunnels!!!
Find out more on their official website and check them out on Wikipedia! The course (which is not a race, but a collective effort involving teamwork – how refreshing!) doubles up as a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a non-profit organization that helps American servicemen and servicewomen who have been severely injured.
And if you think that’s WAY COOL – then please help my friend raise her the money for her minimum donation – since afterall, she’s the one getting dirty for a good cause!
the guy in the first pic
– is he wearing an american flag patterned bikini bottom?
– is his whole upper body covered in tattoos?
