With NY Fashion Week fully upon us, I took it upon myself to do a little research. There simply MUST be something beyond wool blends, cashmere knits, and anorexic teenagers… right? Right!
I happened upon FadMashion.com, a resource for all things fashionable from the contemporary to the classic, tame to crazy. And there it was, the ever-so-crazy designs of Iris Schieferstein. Holy crap, she’s designing shoes that are made of the hooves of dead animals. But LITERALLY the hooves of varied dead animals.
Sure, all leather boots are equally as dead, but it’s extra creepy to be walking around with an in-tact hoof on your foot. Especially one with a gun for a heel. I guess it makes you think twice about where your leather goods come from.
The hoof look is so Greek mythology.
GROSS – and on some of those scrawny models that must look really gross. I can see PETA getting their protest on.
this is just skeevy (not sure of the spelling but looking at these boots is making my feet twitch) Are we sure this designer isn’t a psychopath? I’m just sayin’…
I would wear them if they were synthetic – if just to freak people out!
