The Tablecloth That Turns Spilling Into Poetry

Written by Vivianne

This is officially our new wine & cheese party essential!!!

Bryce turned me on to the coolest prototype ever! From the mind of Oslo designer Kristine Bjaadal comes the Underfull, a white table cloth with a hidden pattern that first shows when wet.

In this context, the embarrassment of spilling wine or any type of liquid at a dinner party becomes an unexpected live artistic performance! Just imagine the reaction of your guests…

Once the liquid touches the fabric, the pattern starts taking form. In this protoype, the wine first turns into caterpillars and eventually settles into the shape of beautiful, colourful butterflies that look just like watercolor artwork!
